I am a passionate person. When I believe in something, I believe it with my whole heart. Sometimes that gets me in trouble. To be truthful, this is the 3rd time I have restarted or rewritten this post. It pains me greatly to know that we have come to a time and place in our history where you can no longer speak the truth. I was brought up having debates, and I have debated some of the greatest minds in human history. I enjoyed every minute of it although we did not agree on almost anything. We were able to leave as friends.
Today, if you disagree with someone, you are accused of "bashing" him/her. I don't understand this mentality... But wait... yes I do. It is the mentality used by those who want to always speak their minds, but not all others the same courtesy.
My question is how will we preach the gospel (which we are required by God) if we cannot speak the truth? If we cannot speak the Bible? If we cannot call "sin" sin? I wonder if maybe this is caused because for so long all we have heard in the pulpit by many religious leaders is tolerance, love, and material gain? The religious teaching for the past few years has almost shunned righteous living. Sanctification is a taboo word. Sin is a taboo word. How far we have come!
It saddens my heart that state leaders have decided in New York that children are expendable and viable only if they are wanted. It is a travesty that murder is now a legal right if you do not want a child. I will never be okay with this. I will never think it is acceptable in God's eyes.
So... judging? Is that what I am doing? If so, I'm okay with this. Because as the scripture spoken by my Lord and Savior so eloquently said, "Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?" I cry out against murder, and if I murder, I accept the judgment that should follow.
When I read Ezekiel 9, and I see what God declared should be done for a people who had disobeyed and lived a life they wanted without regard to God's laws, I want America to turn around. So, if by sounding the alarm for the need for repentance makes me a bad person to a group of people, then I take the mark. For I would far rather have mark from people who do not fear God than to carry the mark that God is against me.
I know we must be wise as serpents and harmless as doves, but we also must speak the truth, without fear... without wavering.
